Barbara Bonilla Case # 20SF013661A is over. She accepted a plea deal from Rob Bonta the State of California Attorney General’s Office this afternoon at 4:15 PM. You will recall she was investigated for Embezzlement and Money Laundering by the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, which by itself was a Conflict of Interest. She was the Executive Director of the Sheriff’s Activities League (SAL). Since she was an employee of the Sheriff’s Office,
Sheriff Carlos G. Bolanos should have referred the entire Criminal Investigation the State of California Attorney Generals Office. That did NOT happen the A.G. was Investigating at the same time.
She was charged with 7 Felonies, today she plead No Contest to Count One only, theft of more than $950.00
The six other Felony Charges were dismissed. She will serve NO Jail Time.
Her Felony will be reduced to a Misdemeanor after 1 yr of probation.
She must pay Sheriff Activity League (SAL) $13,706.35
She was Sheriff Carlos G. Bolanos’s Campaign Manager in the 2018 election for Sheriff.
Does she still work for SO?
