Tonight the City Council voted 4-1 in favor of a Mandate to have all City Employees or Contractors to be Vaccinated. This of course includes the San Mateo County Sheriff Deputies patrolling the City of Half Moon Bay and the Coast-side.
San Mateo County News.com has asked San Mateo County Sheriff Carlos G. Bolanos several times what his COVID-19 Vaccination Policy is and how many of his 800 Sheriff Employees are Vaccinated. He has refused to answer those simple questions. Looks like the 4 council members have solved that for the residents of HMB.
Every City that contracts their Law Enforcement from the Sheriff’s Office should know that the Deputies providing services in their community are Vaccinated.
Congratulations to Half Moon Bay.
This is great news for the public safety of coastal citizens, if it can be enforced. Hopefully the Sheriff will comply, unlike his previous uncooperative attitude. Bolanos needs to be reminded that he works for his customer cities, not the other way around.(see refusal to release body camera logs in Harmon homicide by SMCSD sheriff deputy)
