The family of Munir Edais a 32 year old Police Officer, Father of two daughters, and a Daly City Resident who died sometime between January 19-21, 2020 has asked Daly City Manager Shawanna Maltbie and the 5 council members to provide a Special Meeting by Zoom to Audit the Daly City Police Departments actions with the Daly City Police Department Death Investigations Policy. The response to the Family’s request was NO RESPONSE. Every Department should do an Audit without having to be asked. It’s the only way to access how you are really doing.

344.2.3 Death Cases
Death investigations require specific investigation methods depending on circumstances and should be handled in accordance with the Death Investigations Policy. The handling officer should notify and apprise a supervisor of the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine how to proceed. The following cases shall be appropriately investigated and documented using the approved report: (a) Sudden or accidental deaths. (b) Suicides. (c) Homicide or suspected homicide
