Michael Stogner <email@example.com>To: Mike Callagy Wed, Jan 26 at 5:00 AM
Good Morning Mike, What is the name of the Investigator you hired? What date did you hire him/her?
What is the scope of the Investigation? Thank You Michael G. Stogner San Mateo County News.com
The reason I asked this question is that Former President of the Board of Supervisors and current Candidate for Congress David Canepa refused to ask it at the January 25, 2022 BOS meeting Agenda Item 12. Now to be fair to David Canepa Not one of the Supervisors asked that question.
As of this moment 29 hours later Mike Callagy has not responded.
Yesterday January 25, 2022 at the regular Board of Supervisors Meeting Agenda Item 12 was passed with flying colors as expected.
What was the exact amount of Taxpayer Money Invested in the more than $10,000,000.00 of PPE that ABC 7 Investigative Reporter Dan Noyes first reported about on January 13, 2022.
It’s one thing for San Mateo County Manager Mike Callagy to NOT KNOW that amount on the 13th. It’s another thing to still NOT KNOW IT 15 days later when he is reporting to his Bosses.
Mike Callagy is an At Will Employee of the Supervisors, His work product is an exact reflection of THEM.
The Supervisors never asked Mr. Callagy:
Did you order the PPE boxes to be moved outside the SMC Event Center building? Yes or No
What is the name of the Investigator you hired? What date did you hire him/her?
The Supervisors never asked James Brown of the Wine Country Marines and CEO of West Coast Solutions Inc. of San Carlos to attend and speak at the meeting. They never asked him to explain his Facebook page posted on January 13, 2022 6:00PM declaring the Generous Donation of PPE from SMC. He also told Dan Noyes: “We don’t want anybody to take this and put it on eBay because that’s in essence money laundering, you’re taking federal taxpayer dollar purchased productions and you’re turning it into cash for you,” Brown said, continuing, “We’re not going to allow that.
The Wine Country Marines will proceed in the distribution of the $10M of PPE starting Thursday January 27, 2022. Some 90 unnamed groups have contacted WCM so far. Every single person or group that receives this PPE should either live or work in San Mateo County.
San Mateo County Manager Mike Callagy has informed me this morning that No PPE will be going out today. That is good news and expected. He goes on to say “If the Board approves we will start distribution later this week or next week.”
I sent him a copy of the Wine Country Marines Facebook page from this morning with NO COURSE CORRECTION mentioned to which Mr. Callagy stated that was an old post.
Usually if you say you are going to Distribute the PPE on January 25, 2022 which is today you might update your Facebook page to inform the public, that date has been changed, that takes about 8 seconds, also the County Website could issue a press release, neither has occurred.
Any test result not back in three days is useless. 9 days is worse than useless.
How would San Mateo County Officials not know the daily turn around time, How are they not auditing those results daily.
Why would San Mateo County Officials allow a vendor to provide a service without a contract?
Deputy County Manager Justin Mates noted Virus Geeks is not a county contracted vendor and is therefore not overseen by the county or beholden to the county’s standards. There lies the problem get rid of them.
San Mateo County Event Center first $10M PPE now 9 days to get test results and Government didn’t know.
Before any more crimes are committed, I recommend the San Mateo County Supervisors contact James Brown, let him know you are sorry for the mix up, that whoever gave him the $10,000,000 of PPE did not have the authority to do so. Offer him $10,000 for his time and thank him for volunteering in the first place. San Mateo County should be distributing this PPE it’s in Geat Condition. Get it to the people in San Mateo County.
James Brown CEO West Coast Solutions Inc. San Carlos, San Mateo County 4D’s ago
“We are working hard on getting this into the hands of organizations and groups that need it. Fortunately most of it is in Great condition, vacuum sealed in plastic and only the outer card board was damaged in many cases. Also there was quite a bit stored indoors.“
Why James Brown? isn’t there one employee in San Mateo County who has the capability and skill set to distribute the $9,000,000 of PPE that is in GREAT CONDITION according to him. It should be distributed to San Mateo County period.
If it’s in great condition today January 20, 2022 just think it must have been in great or perfect condition from the time SMC took possession of it, which to this still remains unknown.
When did SMC get this $10M of PPE?
Was it one shipment? what dates? Who signed for it?
Why didn’t SMC distribute it right after they got it?
Why doesn’t San Mateo County distribute it today?
It was No Mistake that this $10M PPE was left outside, It was ordered to be moved outside, part of the plan.
San Mateo Event Center Manager DANA STOEHR: “It’s, it was fully taken care of exactly the way it should have been.”
On Thursday January 13, 2022 ABC 7 Investigative Reporter Dan Noyes interviewed Supervisor David Canepa about the More than $10,000,000.00 of PPE left outside the San Mateo County Event Center for several months unprotected.
San Mateo County Supervisor David Canepa told the I-Team, “It’s because of your investigation, because of your investigation, that we have to acknowledge that we made a mistake. And the public needs to know that a mistake was made.” Looks like it wasn’t a mistake, now what?
San Mateo County Event Center Manager DANA STOEHR: “It’s, it was fully taken care of exactly the way it should have been.”
Mike Callagy is San Mateo County Manager. He is trained how Not to answer a simple question.
DAN NOYES: “Can you give me an idea of the amount of money we’re talking?”
MIKE CALLAGY: “I don’t know. There’s a lot of PPE out there.”
Mike Callagy told us he didn’t know about all that PPE that’s been deteriorating outside for months until I called. He immediately ordered county workers to bring the supplies back inside, to run an inventory and see how much of it is salvageable.
A source tells the I-Team a convoy of garbage trucks filled up with brand new PPE and took it to the dump, in the past two months — a massive waste of your tax dollars that the county promises won’t happen again.
Who ordered the “convoy of garbage trucks” What date or dates did that occur? What evidence is there that the trucks made it to the Dump.
These interviews took place on January 13, 2022. At 6:00 P.M. the same day James Brown of the Wine Country Marines announces on their Facebook page that San Mateo County Department of Emergency Management just gave him a boatload of PPE. That announcement was made 12 minutes before the ABC 7 I Team’s report was made public. That is Warp Speed in my opinion.
Stop any more of the PPE from leaving the SMC Convention Center right this minute.
This is the James Brown who was just given $10M of PPE
I see “$10M CASH” of “federal taxpayer dollar purchased productions” I don’t see a big mess, I don’t see “Surplus”
Money Laundering was the first thought that came to my mind, when I read and watched ABC 7 News report.
This is from ABC 7 Investigative Reporter Dan Noyes who first reported this Thursday January 13, 2022 at 6:12 P.M.
“We don’t want anybody to take this and put it on eBay because that’s in essence money laundering, you’re taking federal taxpayer dollar purchased productions and you’re turning it into cash for you,” Brown said, continuing, “We’re not going to allow that, but what we do want to do is get this into the hands of any organization that serves the community. If you’re out there serving the homeless or doing a food kitchen or a shelter, if you’re treating patients, any of that.”
Who in San Mateo County Government gave James Brown the $10,000,000 of PPE aka federal taxpayer dollar purchased productions?
This action happened before January 13, 2022 at 6:00 P.M. When Wine Country Marines Facebook page said
Large Donation of PPE Updated: 2 days ago
The Wine Country Marines are excited to announce a partnership with the San Mateo County Department of Emergency Management. Specifically, the County DEM has graciously donated to the Wine Country Marines a very large supply of excess inventory of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) that they were provided by FEMA, to be shared with the community at large.
So James Brown (whoever he is) announced San Mateo County Graciously Donated to the (Wine Country Marines) whoever they are the $10,000,000.00 of PPE. 12 minutes before Dan Noyes reported the story.
First let me start by saying I have the Highest Regard for the United States Marine Corps. Sgt. Norman S. Stogner and Emily Greer Stogner, My aunt and uncle were one of the first couples married in Hawaii in their Marine Uniforms on April 14, 1945. They are both laid to rest at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno, San Mateo County. Plots S 1195 & 1196.
I am asking you to Stop and Pause any further actions regarding the reported $10,000,000 of PPE that was first reported by ABC Investigative Reporter Dan Noyes on January 13, 2022. I noticed your Facebook page dated January 13, 2022 at 6:00PM titled Large Donation of PPE, Please notify all non-profits and organizations that could use PPE to serve their citizens in the community.
This has happened so fast, and that is one of the reasons I’m respectfully requesting a Stop and Pause.
The other is this PPE is not surplus, it should have been distributed to San Mateo County Nurses, Doctors, Hospitals, Nursing Homes etc. or if not needed there Santa Clara County right next door to San Mateo County has just made an emergency request for PPE.
Thank You for considering my request, I have also asked A.G. Rob Bonta to stop this until this can be sorted out.
I am a San Mateo County citizen, resident and taxpayer.
San Mateo County should not investigate the 10 million dollars worth of P.P.E. / Protective Personal Equipment that was damaged by negligence, boxes outside for several months not protected from the elements or persons. I am grateful that this story was reported by ABC / KGO TV. The Federal government should be the agency that investigates the wrongdoing of San Mateo County, and the San Mateo County Manager Mike Callagy.
