Take SMC Manager Mike Callagy’s Keys and send him home, TODAY.

$23.5 Million is an update, I’ll give you that. 1:37:18 mark

Agenda Item #5 Update on Event Center Surplus Safety Equipment

This was the title for Agenda Item 5 of the March 22, 2022 Board of Supervisors Meeting. That might explain why there was only ONE public comment on this topic.

The person that put this on the Agenda was San Mateo County Manager Mike Callagy, with the approval of County Counsel.

I would say this was more of a regurgitation of the same story that Mr. Callagy has been promoting since January 13, 2022, when he told ABC 7 I-Team Investigative Reporter Dan Noyes that he knew nothing about it.

San Mateo County News.com Article March 21, 2022

In San Mateo County Manager Mike Callagy’s Presentation he fails to mention these three, that I reported on the day before in the above article.

Deputy County Manager Iliana Rodriguez, San Mateo County Chief Financial Officer Roberto Manchia, Department of Emergency Management Director Daniel Belville.

County Manager to the Board of Supervisors March 22, 2022 “I think the Important thing is that we are TRANSPARENT. We own up to it, and we learn from it”

I personally think the Important thing is tell the truth from the Get Go.

Let me give a simple example, On January 13, 2022 SMC County Manager Mike Callagy never mentions James Brown or the Wine Country Marines a 501-C in Sonoma. He did say “We brought in the Marines.”

He doesn’t mention Iliana Rodriquez of his office has been vetting James Brown and WCM since December 2021.

Mike Callagy, Don Horsley, David Canepa, Carole Groom, Warren Slocom and Dave Pine. You are NOT TRANSPARENT.

Board of Supervisor Meeting March 22, 2022 Item 5 starts at 1:36:00

Red Flag 1:39:00 mark, “The other goods were eventually moved outside for temporary storage and were regrettably ah remained there during the significant storms last fall LEADING TO THE INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION.” What do you know about this Independent Investigation so far? What is the scope of this Investigation? Is the Investigation about the significant storms? Why was there an update without having this Investigator make a presentation at the BOS meeting?

Red Flag 1:39:11 mark, “We’ve been lucky enough throughout this AFTER ACTION to really partner with Wine Country Marines to continue to work on distributing these surplus equipment. Everybody knows what an AFTER ACTION is, Right?

The residents of San Mateo County remember what the Foster City Gang of 3 did to their City Manager.

Foster City Manager Peter Prinejad was FIRED for ZERO reason. The residents of Los Altos Hills are the winners in that case they now have a Great City Manager.

Still many more questions to be answered.

Question for San Mateo County Supervisors

By Michael G. Stogner

Why wasn’t San Mateo County Manager Mike Callagy placed on Administrative Leave January 13, 2022?

January 13, 2022 ABC 7 Investigative Reporter Dan Noyes was reporting on MORE than $10M of PPE outside and unprotected from the elements and theft. He reported a Convoy of Garbage Trucks removing PPE within the last 2 months from the site. Here are some questions he asked Mike Callagy on January 13, 2022.

Mike Callagy is San Mateo County Manager.

DAN NOYES: “Can you give me an idea of the amount of money we’re talking?”

MIKE CALLAGY: “I don’t know. There’s a lot of PPE out there.”

DAN NOYES: “Is it safe to say over a million?”

MIKE CALLAGY: “I would say, oh yeah, I would say over, over a million.”

DAN NOYES: “Is it multiple millions or-“

MIKE CALLAGY: “I don’t know. But it’s, it’s, it’s, there’s a lot of PPE out there.”

San Mateo County News.com asked Mike Callagy for the name of the Investigator he hired. $10M PPE

By Michael G. Stogner

Michael Stogner <michaelgstogner@yahoo.com>To: Mike Callagy Wed, Jan 26 at 5:00 AM

Good Morning Mike,
What is the name of the Investigator you hired?
What date did you hire him/her?

What is the scope of the Investigation?
Thank You
Michael G. Stogner San Mateo County News.com

The reason I asked this question is that Former President of the Board of Supervisors and current Candidate for Congress David Canepa refused to ask it at the January 25, 2022 BOS meeting Agenda Item 12. Now to be fair to David Canepa Not one of the Supervisors asked that question.

As of this moment 29 hours later Mike Callagy has not responded.

San Mateo County could use Jon Froomin as Supervisor.

By Michael G. Stogner

Jon Froomin

I have no idea if the thought has ever crossed his mind, but in my opinion he has just shown the voters of Foster City for the second time, why he is the right guy for elected office, Any Elected Office including Supervisor of District Two, which is available in 9 months and so far nobody except Jon Froomin, has demonstrated that the Oath of Office, or that Integrity is Important in San Mateo County Politics.

Also Supervisor Dave Pine could use the support he deserves. At this moment there is not one of the current Candidates for Supervisor of District Three, that has the qualities Jon Froomin has so effortlessly demonstrated. I’ve always said you could elect a Good Human with NO POLITICAL Experience and be better off at the County Level.

Foster City, Questions remain about the August 25, 2021, Closed Session Meeting.

By Michael G. Stogner

I have asked the City of Foster City who was responsible for placing it on the Agenda for both August 25, and August 31, 2021 Closed Session Meetings? There has been no response to those questions.

Good morning Jennifer, I do have another question or possibly two, can you tell me which City Council member requested the Closed Session Meeting on August 25, 2021 and August 31, 2021?
Thank You
Michael G. Stogner. San Mateo County News.com

I asked San Mateo County Manager Mike Callagy (a Foster City resident on the Citizen Ad Hoc Committee) if any of the councilmembers contacted him prior to them firing Dr. Peter Pirnejad?

Michael Callagy <mcallagy@smcgov.org>To:Michael StognerMon, Aug 30 at 3:47 PM

Hi Mike,I heard about his firing from another city manager a few days after he was fired. We were at lunch.  I was not aware there was a closed session on this matter.  In fact you are the first I heard that from.  Though I asked that Peter sit on a panel for a discussion on equity awhile back, I never really had an opportunity to get to know him. Best regards,

Hello Mike,
Did anybody from Foster City contact you in advance of the August 25, 2021 Closed Session Meeting that resulted in Dr. Peter Prinejad being terminated.
Do you have any comment on this Termination especially since the Assistant City Manager just left that position a couple of weeks prior?
Thank You

I asked San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe if any of the Foster City Councilmembers contacted his office to make a criminal complaint against Dr. Peter Pirnejad the New City Manager of Foster City?

Good morning Michael,

No.  Everything I have heard about the situation is what I have read in your reports.

Good morning Steve,

Did any of Foster City council members file a criminal complaint against Dr. Peter Pirnejad?

Did anybody for that matter?

Thank You

Michael

Just because you have the authority to do something (Fire/Terminate) doesn’t mean that you should, or that it is the right or decent action to take. Super Majority Vote should be considered by the residents. This was clearly an issue between only 3 of the 5 council members. Mayor Sanjay Gehani, F.C. Councilman Jon Froomin voted against the firing of Dr. Peter Pirnejad.

Foster City, Closed Session Meeting of Aug 31, 2021.

By Michael G. Stogner

No Reportable Action

Foster City, held its second Closed Session Meeting in less than a week. August 25, 2021 the results were that the Newly Hired City Manager who was Fully Vetted was Fired by three City Councilmembers Awasthi, Hindi, and Sullivan.

Last night August 31, 2021, another Closed Session Meeting was held, The subject matter was Public Employment (Government Code § 54957)
Title: Interim City/District Manager

I asked Jennifer Phan what was the outcome, here is her response.

Jennifer Phan <jphan@fostercity.org>To:Michael Stogner Wed, Sep 1 at 12:48 PM

Hello Michael,

Thank you for reaching out. There was no reportable action from last night’s Closed Session Meeting. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I look forward to communication from the city as to when the interim city manager pick will again be considered by council, as it would be helpful to residents who are concerned about why the new city manager was fired by three councilmembers, incurring a $300K cost to taxpayers.

If the firing was a legitimate act by the Gang of Three, how do they explain that the other two voted against it, why would they, you would expect the vote to fire would be 5-0 if there was a good cause.

Time will tell, this is just the beginning.
