California program aims to build pipeline of leadership and community service for young men

Sacramento, California – Governor Gavin Newsom is set to roll out a new statewide initiative designed to boost the well-being of young men and boys in California. The program builds on his recent executive order and will work in partnership with California Volunteers to open new opportunities for service and community engagement.

The launch is scheduled for Tuesday, September 16, at 10:00 a.m. The event will be livestreamed across the Governor’s official Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube channels. In addition, television outlets will be able to access the feed through the LiveU Matrix under “California Governor.”

This effort is aimed at creating a structured pipeline of service for young men, giving them the tools and support to thrive while contributing to their communities. The press event will be held in person and is limited to credentialed media. Journalists wishing to attend are required to RSVP no later than 8:00 a.m. on the day of the announcement. Exact location details will be shared following confirmation.
