San Mateo County to host free vendor fair September 17 at Redwood City County Center

San Mateo County, California – On Wednesday, September 17, San Mateo County will hold a Vendor Fair to welcome local and regional businesses. The seminar is free and will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 555 County Center in downtown Redwood City. Its goal is to help company owners better understand how to get government contracts.
County officials say that the fair will let people talk to staff from several different agencies. The County informs vendors what kinds of goods and services it needs, from technology and equipment for parks to projects that help the environment and social services. There will be booths where people can ask questions, get useful tips, and learn more about how to prepare their company for future opportunities.
A key focus will be on guiding companies through the County’s eProcurement system, OpenGov. Representatives will provide step-by-step instructions on how to register, meet the prerequisites, and learn how contracts are given out. Small and micro enterprises will also get information on how to sign up for the County’s programs that are meant to get more of them involved.
Jas Sandhar, the procurement director for San Mateo County, stressed how important the occasion was. He says that creating better relationships with vendors is good for both local business owners and the quality of services that residents receive. The County wants to get more diverse partners by getting rid of barriers and making the contracting process easy to understand.
Arrangements have been made to make it easy to take part. You don’t have to pay to get in, and you can get a parking pass by printing off your registration confirmation or collecting one up at the Procurement table when you arrive. You must sign up ahead of time to go.
The fair is part of the County’s larger endeavor to reach more people and make sure that businesses of all sizes can engage with the government. For a lot of vendors, this event will be a unique chance to meet face-to-face with decision makers and find out how to make their services fit the needs of the community.
