The San Mateo Police Department emphasized the importance of community support in reporting crimes. For accurate information and thorough observations, law enforcement depends much on witnesses. If citizens see a crime, they are urged to call the police immediately, remain calm, and give precise descriptions of suspects and their activities.
Police urge the community to keep in mind important information such the appearance, clothes, unique traits, and path of escape of the culprit. Working with police on the scene is essential since eyewitness reports greatly help investigations and improve public safety.
