California sets national example with the launch of its largest service corps, providing substantial financial support for participants

Sacramento, California – With the introduction of the California Service Corps, Governor Gavin Newsom has launched the biggest service corps program in the United States, therefore marking an interesting progression for community service. Ten thousand individuals of this huge project are expected to give over five million service hours by 2025, consequently promoting community support and involvement across the state.

Emphasizing the great influence of community service on community bonds and personal development, Governor Newsom highlighted his excitement and satisfaction in starting this ambitious program.

“As we launch this new service year with the nation’s largest service corps, we reaffirm that service to others is the highest form of civic duty. These paid opportunities embody the best of California’s values — a commitment to each other, mutual understanding, and the belief that when we lift others, we all rise together,” Newsom said in a press release.
