Karol G fans get extra Caltrain service and themed train for two-night stadium run
San Mateo County, California – Karol G fans heading to Levi’s Stadium later this month will have a concert experience that can begin well before they reach their seats. Caltrain is adding extra service for the singer’s two-night stop, and on Friday, one train will get a full Reggaeton makeover.
The transit agency says the special ride is designed to turn the trip south into part of the celebration while also giving concertgoers another way to avoid stadium traffic.
Karol G’s Viajando por el Mundo Tropitour is scheduled at Levi’s Stadium on Friday, Aug. 21, and Saturday, Aug. 22. Both concerts begin at 7 p.m.
On Friday, Caltrain’s southbound Train 148 will include two decorated coach cars as part of the themed Reggaeton Train. It leaves San Francisco Station at 4:55 p.m., giving riders time to reach the stadium area before opening act Becky G. Passengers aboard the special cars can also enter a raffle for officially licensed Karol G merchandise.

Caltrain will continue operating weekday service every 30 minutes. Concertgoers can ride to Mountain View Station and transfer to VTA light rail for the final leg to Levi’s Stadium. WILD 94.9’s Jess will also be at Mountain View as fans make the connection.
Getting home is part of the plan as well. Caltrain will operate an additional northbound train after both concerts, scheduled to leave Mountain View 90 minutes after each show ends and after the final special VTA train arrives.
On Friday, the last regular northbound train leaves Mountain View at 11:48 p.m., while the last southbound departure is at 1:04 a.m. Saturday’s final regular trains leave at 11:49 p.m. northbound and 1:05 a.m. southbound.

Caltrain uses a proof-of-payment system, meaning fares must be paid before boarding. Riders can use Clipper, a contactless credit card or digital wallet. Joint VTA/Caltrain Day Passes are also available from ticket machines. Youth fares for riders 18 and younger are $1 one way or $2 for a day pass.
Station parking costs $5.50 per day. Caltrain advises drivers that parking at Mountain View is limited and recommends arriving early or parking at another station.
