San Mateo partners with nonprofit to boost awareness of fair housing rights and duties

San Mateo, California – Later this month, there will be a free session in San Mateo to help tenants and landlords learn more about their rights when it comes to housing. The event will take place on Wednesday, October 22, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the San Mateo Public Library, located at 55 West Third Avenue. Project Sentinel and the City of San Mateo are working together to put it on.

The in-person event will give you useful information on the rules and services that affect how renters and property owners get along. People will learn about both federal and state fair housing legislation, as well as local rules that govern property management and tenancy. The seminar will also talk about important issues like how to provide appropriate adjustments for people with disabilities and how to protect people’s sources of income.

Project Sentinel is a nonprofit group that has been working for a long time to make sure that people are treated fairly and legally in housing matters. They do this by providing education and support. The upcoming session will continue this objective by giving both tenants and landlords a chance to ask questions and learn more about their rights and duties under the law.
