San Mateo County brings employers together on Oct. 21 for two-hour hiring event covering healthcare, retail and office jobs
San Mateo, California – Finding a new job can be challenging, especially for people who are unsure where to begin or which employers are currently hiring. Next week, San Mateo County residents will have an opportunity to explore different career paths, meet potential employers in person, and learn about available positions without having to visit multiple businesses.
Whether someone is looking for a first job, considering a career change, or hoping to find additional income through part-time work, an upcoming event in San Mateo could provide a useful starting point.
The County of San Mateo Human Services Agency has announced an in-person job fair scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, 2026. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the agency’s Resource Center, located at 1500 Fashion Island Boulevard in San Mateo.
Organized through the agency’s Employment Services team, the two-hour event will bring together employers representing several industries. Both full-time and part-time employment opportunities will be available for job seekers to explore.
The range of positions is one of the main features of the event. Residents interested in office-based employment can learn about opportunities in administration and customer service, while those looking for other types of work can explore jobs in transportation, warehouse operations, and retail.
Health care, caregiving, and social services will also be represented, along with restaurant and hospitality opportunities. The variety is intended to give people with different interests and employment backgrounds a chance to connect with potential employers.
County staff will be available during the event to help attendees make connections, discuss available positions, and better understand the opportunities presented by participating businesses.
Rather than focusing on a single employer or profession, the job fair will give visitors access to multiple industries in one location. For those weighing several career options, this could make it easier to compare opportunities and identify positions that match their interests.

Residents interested in attending should visit the County of San Mateo Human Services Agency Resource Center at 1500 Fashion Island Blvd., San Mateo, CA 94404, on Wednesday, October 21, between 10 a.m. and noon.
